Basic brewing instructions for loose tea
First of course use the best water and the best teas you can... As in anything brewing or fermenting or as in life itseslf ....when you put good things in you get good thing to come out.
When using black tea use 2 teaspoons to 8 ounces of boiling water and steep for 4 minutes... then strain
For Green and white teas again use 2 teaspoons but only steep for 3 minutes... then of course strain
Then for oolong teas have it somewhere in between as oolong, sometimes called wuloong is somewhere in between. it is partially fermented as the other teas are either very fermented or not fermented at all
And of coures these are just suggestions as there are countless brewing methods for countless different reasons to accommodate your tastes... For a bolder flavor use more tea for a longer period of time and for a less obtrusive tastes brew less tea for a shorter time... ... That is the basics
And then you can go further... There is Pu erh tea that is know as the "Wonder Tonic" and "Tribute Tea" and many other names that allude to its many anti aging and medicinal properties. Pu erh tea is reported to be more potent, containing strong "Qi" or as we Americans pronounce it... "Chi" it is lifes energy contained in the exotic tea. Drinking Pu-erh tea is said to help clean the intestines and stomach among many other non specific benefits reducing stresses on many of our bodies systems.
